The Love of The Father

Updated: Nov 23, 2022

One thing that I feel the Lord continues to speak over me as I walk and journey with Him is the true love He has for us. Many Christians have read the scriptures that speak of His love such as:

  1. Ephesians 5:1 ESV Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.

  2. Ephesians 1:4-6 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

  3. Ephesians 3:17- 19 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

We continue to read these scriptures and they become common knowledge to us in our minds as words we remember but they are not inscribed in our hearts. The words are read and the love has become white noise to us. The commands become our main focus and drive in our Christian walk but not the love of the Father. The worldly mentality creeps in that we have to strive to achieve the commands of God in order to be accepted in the kingdom.

Jesus is not a task manager waiting for you to fail and tell you to get it right. He died knowing you won't get it right and that you need Him. He is loving and waiting for you to receive His love and His help.

The task manager way of thinking is not the gospel because my dear sons and daughters of Christ you are already accepted in the beloved. You are accepted by the blood of Jesus Christ not by what you have done or what you have achieved. Your salvation rests in the knowing of Jesus did for you not what you deserve based on your performance.

God wants us to rest in Him and who He is. He wants us to walk in the confidence of our acceptance by Him and Him alone. His affection is what drives us not our goals of achievement. His love towards us is why persevere. We do all things for the glory of God and it is because we love Him because He first loved us.

Jesus Christ delights in us and has freely given us everything we need because of that great love. It is not about what God reveals to us that we need achieve on our own but it is about saying yes, stepping out in what God says to do and waiting for Him to show up. His Spirit shows up and provides us with the strength, wisdom, and discernment through our circumstance and it is nothing of ourselves. Knowing His love is knowing and trusting that He will be there for you through it all.

Rest today in the love of the Father knowing that He has the victory and we are able to walk in freedom because of His great works.
